Regular Season Rules

1. Login and make your picks before 1:00 on Sunday.  Click on the radio button next to the team of your choice.  Thursday and Saturday regular season games do not count.

2. Lock - A Lock is your best game of the week.  This is the game you feel most comfortable with.  During the regular season you will receive one point for a correct Lock pick.

3. Favored versus underdog.  The team listed to the left is always the away team.  Sometimes the away team is the favorite, (-).  Sometimes it is the underdog, (+).  If it is the favorite subtract the amount of points after the minus (-) from the final score.  If it is the underdog add the points after the (+) to the final score.  After these adjustments, this is the score of the game according to the Memorial Football League.

4. The system will keep track of your score and e-mail you your status every Tuesday.  If you do not receive this e-mail, first check your spam.  If not please contact the commissioner. 

5. There are many ways to compete.  First the league posts the individual standings.  This is how your are doing against every other player in the league.  Secondly you will notice how you are doing against your fellow Division players.  And finally you will notice how your Division is competing against the other Divisions in the league.

6. The Coin.  We know that sometimes you just can not get to a computer to make your picks.  Or you may have forgotten.  If this occurs the system will flip a coin for every game.  Whatever the coin scores, that will be your score for the week.  This feature is available up to the three times during the regular season.

After three coin flips and you do not play you will receive a DNP (did not play).  On the third DNP you will be removed from the standings.  However your dues are still expected.

7. Password/ID.  Your password and ID are case sensitive.  If you have forgotten yours please let us know.

8. Winning.  There will be an MFL Champion.  This player will have earned the most points through the entire regular season and the playoffs.

There will be four Division winners.  The best scores from each Division.

There will be a Lock Champion.  The player with the most correct Lock picks throughout the season and the playoffs.

The purse will be announced after we have received the dues from the players.  Sometimes people play in the league and then do not send in their dues.  Sometimes players commit to the league and then drop out.  These two factors will affect the amount of the purse.

Keep in mind this is a charity first.  We earmark the first $2500 for the Book Grant.  This is the main fundraiser for the Book Grant.  Any (MFL) revenue after the $2500 will be placed in the purse for the winners.

MFL PLAYOFF  Rules

Are in effect now.

1. Please pick every playoff game before kickoff of the first playoff game of the week. Usually on Saturdaday.The site will close at kick off of first playoff game.

2. Lock picks.  Your Lock pick is the game of the week that you feel most confident about.  If you are correct you double the points for that game.

3. During the playoff season each week is scored progressively.

- Wild card week the games are worth 2 points each.  Therefore a correct lock pick is worth 4 points.

- Division week games are worth 3 points each, a correct lock pick is worth 6 points.

- Conference week the games are worth 4 points each.  A correct lock pick is worth 8 points.

- Super Bowl is worth 5 points.  Correct lock pick equals 10 points.

4. Double Dog. Each week you have the option of making a Double Dog pick.  This means you chose the underdog to win a game out right. No spread. If correct you double the points for that game. A correct wildcard week Double Dog pick would score 4 points, division 6 points, Conference 8 points, Super Bowl 10 points.

5. Double Dog Lock.  this means you are Locking on your Double Dog pick. If correct double the points for that game twice.!

A correct Double Dog Lock pick for Wild Card week would score 8 points, Division Week 12 points, Conference Week 16 points, Super Bowl Week 20 points!

6. THE COIN. The coin is not available during the playoffs.

7. DO NOT PLAY.  If you DO NOT PLAY you will receive zero points for the week.

8. PLAYER STANDINGS.  You are competing with everyone in the league. This standing shows where you stand against everyone. The Player with the most points after the Super Bowl will be the MFL Champion. The tie breaker is most LOCKS. Second tie breaker is best Division APS. Third tie-breaker is a Coin Flip.
